Some of the questions I get the most are how do I take care of my hair? What do I use to keep my hair healthy? How did I get my hair to grow so long? Well today I am sharing all my tips and tricks to grow and maintain long healthy hair!
1.Oil Before Washing
Before I wash my hair I put either Olive or Coconut oil in my hair, focusing it more on the ends and then leave it in for and hour or two before I wash my hair! This has made such a huge difference for my hair; I no longer struggle with dry ends and my hair feels and looks so much healthier!
2.Wash Your Hair Less
This one will take some time to adjust, but over washing your hair can be one of the most damaging things for it! When you wash your hair daily it results in stripping your hair of all its natural oils; leaving your hair dry and much more weak. If you wash your hair everyday I recommend starting every other day until you get to only washing your hair every 3 days. Another little tip is to take a few extra minutes to really massage your scalp when washing you hair! Finding a nice dry shampoo that works for your hair type will really help during this transition time!
3.Avoid Brushing Wet Hair
When your hair is wet it is much more fragile and susceptible to breaking! Dry your hair carefully and if you must brush your hair use a wide tooth comb or a wet brush, you can get one here.
4.Choose a Leave-In Product
Applying a leave-In conditioner and/or a leave in oil will nourish your hair while making it much easier to work with when your hair is dry. These leave-In products can target specific needs for your hair such as frizziness, curly hair, dry ends and much more. Shop some great leave-In products I love here, here and here!
5.Silk Pillow Case
Cotton pillow cases can cause breakage and frizz from the friction. When you use a silk pillow case it prevents those things while also retaining the moisture in your skin and even prevent some wrinkles!
I hope these 5 tips help you with your hair! If you have any questions or want more tips and product recommendations you can follow me on my Instagram or message me here!
Have a great week!
